Cool Off with an After Birth Tea Latte
The weather is getting warmer and the thought of hot tea is making us sweat. It’s the perfect time to share the recipe for an iced tea latte you can make with out After Birth Tea that will prep your body for labor and get you through the summer.
Birthing Brew Tea Latte
1 bag of After Birth herbal tea makes 6 oz
4 oz milk of your choice. We like oat.
Honey syrup to taste
Infuse your tea the night before for extra nutritional benefits; or make a batch in advance and store it in a large mason jar to always have some ready.
Make honey syrup by mixing honey with boiling water (3 parts honey to 1 part water) and stirring until combined. I use a mason jar to mix ¾ cup of honey and ¼ cup of water. Making honey syrup is crucial for blending the sweetness into cold drinks, as full strength honey will not dissolve into an iced drink. You could also use sugar, but we like honey for pregnancy because of its anti-inflammatory properties.
Fill your cup with ice. Spoon honey syrup over ice. Start with 1 tsp and adjust according to taste.
Next vigorously shake oat milk for a nice froth. Pour milk over ice and tea after milk. Stir well to combine.
Enjoy the uterine strengthening properties of the red raspberry leaf and the anti-inflammatory benefits of honey. We like oat milk for the protein and minerals like calcium and iron it provides, but you can use any milk of your choice in this drink. You could also enjoy this drink hot.
